Stage set for CAN Info-Tech 2018

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: All preparations for Subisu CAN Info-Tech 2018 have completed, Federation of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN Federation) -- the organizer of the event -- said on Sunday.

Organizing a press meet on Sunday, the federation said that almost all the arrangements for the 24th edition of the country's largest information, communications and technology show have been made.

The exhibition will be organized from January 25 to January 30 at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu.

According to the organizers, member associations of the federation, information, communication and technology businessmen of both national and international level, among others, are participating in the event.

The event will have 49 big stalls inside the main exhibition hall and five branding exhibition pavilions outside the main hall. Altogether there will be 222 stalls -- 144 stalls in the truss, 14 stalls in the open area, and ten food stalls. 

Computer hardware sales and maintenance, power solutions, mobile accessories, dealer and distributors, internet service providers, telecommunications, ICT colleges and training institutes, software solution and others are participating in the fair. The organizers are expecting around 400,000 visitors.

“This year, there will be a separate pavilion for software developers to promote software prepared by Nepali companies, startups and other domestic technologies,” Ranjit Kumar Poddar, general secretary of CAN Federation, said in the press meet. “We have given an attractive discount to companies exhibiting their products and services in the software pavilion.”

Entry tickets can be purchased online via eSewa. The organizers are providing a discount of 20 percent for tickets purchased online. The entry fee has been fixed at Rs 50 for students and Rs 100 for general visitors.
