DANG, Jan 23: At least four people were killed and 30 others were injured in a bus accident in Salyan on Monday.

The ill-fated bus (Na 5 Kha 531) which was heading toward Dang from Rukum, skidded off the road and plunged some 80 meters at Bhat Khola of Triveni-6 in the district. The deceased include two men and two women, according to the local police. Two of the deceased have been identified as Pushpa Khadka KC and Chhanchari BK. However, the identity of two others is yet to be known.

Police rescued the passengers with the help of locals. The injured were immediately rushed to the local hospital at Srinagar in the district. Preparations are underway to transfer some critically injured passengers to Dang and Banke hospitals.
