CAN Info-Tech begins in Bhrikutimandap

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The CAN InfoTech- a mega event of Nepal’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector has begun today. 

It is stated that the 24th edition of the technological exhibition is organised by CAN Federation at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall with an objective to promote domestic ICT industry and showcase latest technological developments taking place across the world. 

As many as 155 stalls related to IT products and services are displayed in the fair. About 400,000 people are expected to visit the fair. 

The Subisu is the title sponsor for the six-day event, Motorola is the co-partner for CAN InfoTech, according to the CAN Federation. 

According to organizes, the event will basically display ICT products and services related to power solutions, software solutions, hardware sales and maintenance, mobile accessories, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), telecommunications, ICT colleges and IT institutes, payment solution. 

Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet inaugurated the fair amid a function. 

On the occasion, Minister Basnet said that the government was working out to reach the computer education in the community schools. 

He added that the working together by government and private sector was essential to develop he IT sectors in the country. He further opined for leading the nation towards economic prosperity as political course was completed with the completion of three-tier- elections. 

The fair will conclude on January 30.
