Dr KC, lawyers file RTI on Chief Justice's citizenship

KATHMANDU, Jan 31:  Dr Govinda KC has registered a Right to Information at District Administration Office, Kathmandu demanding information about debated citizenship of Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli.

Stating that the Constitution of the country had allowed individuals to seek information on public matters, KC had registered the application on Monday.  

KC said that the documents were required for a case against him in the Supreme Court. “Moreover, the documents will also assist to ensure judicial pride, operation of justice while allocating tenure of the Chief Justice.”

Senior Lawayer Dr surendra Bhandari has also seperate application demanding security. In his application, "He alleged Chief Justice Parajuli given him life threaten." Dr Bhandari stated that CJ Parajuli has given him life threaten via telephone after he discuss the case from the KC' side and the write-up published in Nagarik Daily."

Dr Govinda KC along with lawyers Om Prakash Aryal, Surendra Bhandari, Dr Abhishek Raj Singh, Sashi Bikram Karki, Binod Aryal and Rajib Yadav have filed the application.
