KATHMANDU, Feb 12: To resolve ongoing deadlocks for party unification, KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal are meeting in Sharada Adhikari’s residence at Manbhawan, Lalitpur.

With two different proposals regarding merger of CPN UML and CPN (Maoist Center), rumors are rife that the much hyped unification is a herculean.

The Maoist Centre has been demanding Dahal to be nominated as Party Chairperson of Left Alliance if Oli is to be the country’s Prime minister in the new government. However, the UML are not willing to accept Dahal immediately as the party’s chair.

Instead, UML leaders have proposed Dahal as co-chair, which the Maoist Centre is unwilling to buy.  Likewise, while the UML has been pushing ahead to form the government as soon as possible, the Maoist Centre is reluctant to abide. Instead it is focusing more on party unification to resolve the current deadlock to form a stable government for the next five years.
