Pressure mounts to relieve 'hell on earth' in Syria enclave

The United Nations Security Council is expected to vote a draft resolution demanding a 30 day ceasefire to allow deliveries of aid and medical evacuations in Syria. International pressure mounted Thursday to end civilian suffering in a rebel-held enclave near Damascus where Syrian jets have been raining bombs in a blitz that has killed more than 300.

Special neonatal care unit soon in Lamjung District Community Hospital

The Lamjung District Community Hospital will soon launch Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) service to address premature birth and its complexities.  The new facility will also help to reduce untimely deaths of newborn in the district.

Oli, Dahal agree on 18 ministries in federal Nepal

The newly formed government under UML’s chair, KP Sharma Oli has decided to form the government with 18 ministries.  According to the country’s constitution, a government can form 25 ministries. While Dahal-Oli’s agreement is below the constitutional provisions, it nonetheless is more than what the previous Ministry of General Administration had recommended:  15 ministries for federal Nepal. 

Russian curler stripped of Olympic medal in doping case

Russian curler Alexander Krushelnitsky has been stripped of his Olympic bronze medal after admitting to a doping violation at the Pyeongchang Games. Krushelnitsky tested positive for meldonium, which is believed to help blood circulation, after winning bronze in mixed doubles with his wife, Anastasia Bryzgalova.
