Bike stunt craze in Bhaktapur

If you visit Nepal Engineering College, Duwakot or Gorkha Eco Panel factory, Hanumancha, Changunarayan Municipality in Bhaktapur, you often notice bikers doing stunning bike stunts.
Every Saturday, scores of youths gather at this place to watch the stunt of Suraj Danegulu, who has become popular among youths interested about this. As Danegulu and his team showcase their skills, inquisitive youths watch it and learn the adventurous stunts. 

According to 26 years old, Danegulu more youths are attracted toward becoming professional stunt artist. “It’s been nine years for me performing bike stunts. I learnt riding bike when I was 14 and got my license in 16. Since then I have been continuously practicing my skills. At that time there weren’t any Youtube videos to get such ideas. I learnt it out of my deep interest.”

He got inspired to continue his practice as people appreciated his bike riding skill that he learnt in teenage. Moreover, his job at motorcycle workshop at Suryabinakya too helped him continue his work.

Asked about the reason behind his persistence on the profession, he shared, “This is an adventurous sports. Those who have this skill also have various benefits such as they know how to protect themselves if they met with a road accident.”

Danegulu was announced national stunt biker in a national competition in 2016. Since then a company Classic Wheels has offered him Crossfire motorcycle. And with his active initiation, also a group namely the Action Team Stunt has been formed.
