Kathmandu enters into final defeating Mahendranagar by 5 wickets

KATHMANDU, April 12: Kathmandu Goldens has entered into the final defeating Mahendranagar United by five wickets in the ongoing Second Dhangadhi Premier League, Dhangadhi Kailai on Thursday.

Chasing the target of 143 runs of Mahendranagar United, Kathmandu reached the target in 18.2 overs with the loss of five wickets.

Subodh Bhati made 52 runs with four fours and 5 sixes in 18 balls. Likewise, Amit Shrestha made 26 runs in 19 balls, Bhupendra Thapa 21 runs in 15 balls, Gyanendra Malla 25 runs in 31 balls,  Puspa Thapa nine runs in six balls, Naresh Buda Ayer not out seven runs and Sunny Patel not out five runs for Kathmandu Goldens.

Puneet Mehra took two wickets and Bhuwan Karki, Punit Bista and Rabin Chhetri took a single wicket each for Mahendranagar United.

In the first inning, Mahendranagar presented the target of 143 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs.  

Punit Mehra made highest 58 runs in 42 balls for Mahendranagar. Aarif Sheikh made 43 runs in 39 balls. Karan KC and Punit Bista made 21, 7 runs respectively for Mahendranagar.

Sunny Patel took 6 wickets for Kathmandu Goldens. Likewise, Puspa Thapa and Suboth Bhatia took 1 wicket each.

Due to downpour, the match was abandoned and postponed yesterday.
