Govt against cartels: FNCCI backs govt decision

Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) has backed the government decision not to renew any transportation committees, which are registered at district administration offices (DAOs). Issuing a press statement on Thursday, the FNCCI has supported the government decision and has argued that any form of syndicate and cartels system should be terminated.

Former captain Shrestha arrested with stolen goods

Former football captain of Saraswati Youth Nepal, Dipesh Shrestha, 26, has been arrested on the charge of theft with stolen accessories from his room in Kapan. The team deployed from Metropolitan Police Range, Kapan arrested Shrestha on Wednesday evening along with the stolen goods worth Rs 517,000 including 33 sets mobile phone, 2 sets I-pad, LED TV, camera along with cash NRs 43,500 and IRs 2,000, informed police.

Chickens and poultry products being smuggled to Nepal from India

Although the government has restricted the import of chicken and poultry products from India, different markets in Siraha district are found selling them openly. The government has prohibited the import of chickens, eggs and poultry products from India after bird flu was confirmed in India. 

KMC intensifies school monitoring

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started monitoring in private schools. The KMC education department chief Prahlad Aryal shared that they intensified monitoring the schools as they received regular complaints regarding student enrolment at the beginning of the academic session. 

Taekwondo master Chhetri felicitated in Seoul

Patron of National Taekwondo Association-Nepal, Raju Chhetri has been felicitated by World Taekwondo Headquarter Kukkiwon –Korea in Seoul recently. Chhetri was feted for his contribution in promoting the sports in Nepal.
