Indolence

Indolence

The scorching rays of sun
The loneliness of being alone
Books scattered around
The examination week has begun
Long list of subjects to prepare
But enthusiasm to study has gone.

The days melt into weeks
Watching the butterflies, birds and people's squeak
I make round the clock
Sleeping and planning for the trip to desert
Really, summer invites indolence
But slowly even the summer gets gone.
Jacketed, thick clothes and hot coffee
There comes the winter
Those essences of burning firewood
Those downy snows in window ledge
Invigorates me
But the warmth of my bed
Languishes me.
Again, I make round the clock
This time Laying down and promising to wake up
Why the minutes turn to hour so fast?
I compile the task to be done for the last time
'Could be done later' says the mind.
Even the winter invites indolence
But slowly even the winter gets gone.

indolence,
