Shooting for Nepali movie 'Mehandu' begins

DOLPA, May 12:  A film shooting for a Nepali movie ‘Mehandu’ has started in Dolpa which is full of natural beauties.

The shooting for ‘Mehandu’, which means angel, kicked off following a special puja offered at Tripura Sundari Temple today.

The movie is about cultures, tradition and lifestyle of Upper Dolpa boarding China and Lower Dolpa, said Director Dev Nepal.

The script has been designed so as to portray problems seen in the linguistic aspect, superstition and tradition subsisting among the denizens of Upper Dolpa and Lower Dolpa.

Dev Nepal is both the director and script writer of the film. Similarly, Arjun Dotel is producer while Raji Kiranti is conflict director. Bhola Timalsena and Sonu Puma are in the lead roles of the film.  Likewise, Rohit Bikram Karki is cinematographer.

It will take around a month to shoot the film which will cost around Rs 13 million.

The film will hit the screen by the Nepali month Bhadra and will be dubbed into four languages including Japanese, English and Nepali.

Dho Taksi, a village situated at the highest altitude, will also feature in the film. Dolpa culture, tradition and lifestyle set in pristine natural beauties are the major attractions of Mehandu.
