KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The Forest Products Development Board (FPDB) has earned approximately Rs 185.1 million in revenue from the sale of timbers from forests in Sarlahi, Mahottari, Rautahat and Jhapa districts in the fiscal year 2072\73.

The Board, following increasing deforestation and forestland encroachment, has been conserving and protecting forests in the districts within the Sagarnath Forest Development Project (SFDP) and Ratuwamai Tree Plantation Project (RTPP), with the help from the Armed Police Force.

As part of the conservation, tree saplings will be planted.

In return, the Board will sell the felled timbers from the forests. The forests within the SFDP and RTPP spread over 13,500 and 2650 hectares respectively. RSS
