2 die after consuming poison

UDAYAPUR, Aug 23: Two persons, including a police constable, have committed suicide by consuming poison in Udayapur district on Tuesday.

Another one is in a critical condition. Armed Police Force (APF) Police Constable Suresh Hamal, 34, of Motigada, Triyuga-7, and Gopal Bahadur Bhujel, 57, of Deuri, Triyuga-10, died of consuming poison. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Om Rana, spokesperson of the District Police Office (DPO), Udaypur, Police Constable Hamal committed suicide over family reasons.

Hamal was found in a critical condition at a bus station at Triyuga-3. He was then immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment with the help of the police and his family members. Later, he was transferred to Biratnagar for further treatment. However, doctors pronounced him dead shortly after the arrival. According to a family source, Hamal and his wife had quarreled before he left home for office. To everyone's shock, he was found about 200 meters north from home seriously ill after consuming poison.

Another deceased, Bhujel died on the way to the Biratnagar as treatment was not possible in the District Hospital, police informed. He is also suspected to have committed suicide following a dispute in his family, according to police.

Sujan BK, 19, of Triyuga-2 is in a critical condition, police said. He is currently undergoing treatment in Birtanagar.
