KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the International community does not trust the CPN-UML.

Talking to online journalists at an interaction in Baluwatar on Tuesday evening, PM Dahal said that the national unity can never be strengthened by sideling one group while favoring the other.

The real nationalism is realized only when all the Nepali people living in every nook and cranny are treated equally by the state. We cannot build nationalism by favoring one group while provoking or marginalizing the other, said Dahal.

PM Dahal further said that all the Nepali citizens should feel the ownership of the country when it comes to national unity.

Giving reason behind withdrawing his party’s support to the Oli government, Dahal said the then Oli government was hell-bent on provoking and sabotaging Madhes-centric parties while favoring the other group.

This approach and policy was detrimental to the national unity which would ultimately push the country to the verge of collapse.

“I have been taking the initiative in bringing the disgruntled groups such as Tharus and Madhesi people on board in line with the 12-point deal reached between the Nepali Congress and the Maoist,"  said Dahal.

Dahal said that the NC and the Maoist parties were the major stakeholders of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), too, while the CPN-UML was just an eyewitness.

The UML is not the major stakeholder of the peace process, said Dahal, adding, “CPN-UML could not bring the peace process into a logical conclusion.”

Besides, the international community also does not believe the CPN-UML. The alliance between the CPN (Moist Center) and CPN-UML would never conclude the peace process, rather it would lead the nation to disintegration,  claimed Dahal.
