PM issues directive for immediate rescue of bus accident victims

KATHMANDU, Aug 26: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed profound sorrow over the death of the citizens in the bus accident that took place this morning in the Trishuli River and directed the local administration for promptly rescuing the injured passengers. 

The Prime Minister gave this directive to the Chitwan District Administration this morning, the Prime Minister's personal deputy-secretary Manohari Timilsina said.

The bus (Ga 1 Kha 3709), heading towards Pokhara from Gaur of Rautahat district, met with an accident at Kalikhola of Chandi Bhanjyang VDC along the Narayangadh- Muglin section of the highway.

At least 21 people are killed in the accident while 13 have been rescued, the Muglin police said.

The Prime Minister ordered the District Administration and the local party rank and file for the immediate rescue of those injured in the accident and make arrangements for their treatment. The injured are taken to Chitwan for treatment.

Although the accident happened last night, the rescue started only after a police patrol saw the bus floating in the river at 4 am today. RSS
