DPM Nidhi informs parliament about India visit

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi informed the parliament today about his recent visit to India as a special envoy of the Prime Minister. The visit took place from August 18 to 23.

At today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament, DPM Nidhi said his visit helped further consolidate bilateral relations, expand collaboration and cooperation and lay the ground for exchange of high-level visits between the two countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister also shared that he had handed over a letter by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to the Indian President for a state visit to Nepal, and shared with leaders there that the new government's priority was to implement the constitution by bringing all sides concerned on board.

He said that during the meeting, he apprised various Indian political party leaders of the fact that Nepal's government prioritizes holding all three sets elections—local, provincial and federal—in time as stipulated by the constitution as part of the implementation of the constitution.

Nidhi also stressed the need for necessary efforts by both Nepal and India to run regular development program and the fact that Nepal wants to benefit from high-speed economic progress achieved by India. 
Stating that Indian leaders expressed commitment for continuous support from the side of India in socio-economic development endeavors of Nepal, DPM Nidhi said that the India assured of taking maximum initiatives to ensure exchange of high-level visits. 
At the meeting, DPM Nidhi, who also holds the Home Ministry, presented details of loss of lives and property in road accidents that occurred recently in Kavre, Chitwan and Bajhang districts. RSS
