Two wins in a row for Lumbini FC

KATHMANDU, June 19:  Jagdamba Lumbini FC bet Jawlakhel Youth Club 1-0 in the Lalit Memorial U-18 Football Tournament at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato on Sunday to top Group B.

Ajit Thapa scored the winner for Lumbini that had earlier defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 6-0.

However, Army, which defeated Jawalakhel, advanced into the quarterfinals as group runner-up. Meanwhile, in Group A, Rumpum Jhapa XI played goalless draw against APF, which crashed out of the tournament with the outcome. Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (group winner) and Jhapa advanced into the knock-out stage.

 

Win for Gajurmukhi and Duddha Academy

Gajurmukhi School recorded 3-0 win over Saint Xavier's School in the Coca Cola Inter-school Football Tournament at Sano Gaucharan in Kathmandu on Sunday.

Bishal Balami, Sandesh Khanal and Rajesh Thapa scored a goal each for Gajurmukhi. Similarly, Buddha Academy beat Lalitpur Academy 3-0 with Tenzing Sherpa, Sangam Tamang and Dipesh Lama scoring for the winner. In another match, Chantal Mauduit Academy defeated Pearls' Academy 3-0 in tie-breaker after the match ended in a goalless draw in regular time.

Super League from Tuesday

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is set to hold the Super League round of the Red Bull Martyr's Memorial C Division League at the ANFA Complex from Tuesday. Shree Bhagawati Club, Jhamsikhel Youth Club, Manohara United Youth Club and Birgunj Youth Academy are in the super league and the top two teams will progress to B Division after the league round matches, while two teams will remain in the C Division.
