KATHMANDU, Aug 31: National Sports Council (NSC) has feted sports reporter Prakash Timilsina of Nagarik Daily, a sister publication of Republica Daily, on Wednesday on the occasion of its 53rd anniversary. 

Four other sports reporters including Binod Pandey, Shreelochan Rajopadyaya, Roshan Kumar Raut, Pradip Lekhi and a sports photo journalist Udipt Singh Chhetri also were feted on the same occasion. 

NSC also feted its six employees to mark its 53rd anniversary. Morang Sports Development Committee's Chief Dev Raj Katwal was feted with Best of the Best NSC Award while Sukumar Thapa and Gyanu Ghimire were given Best NSC and NSC Service awards respectively under the administration section. Katwal, Thapa and Ghimire were rewarded with Rs 25,000, 15,000 and 10,000 respectively. 

Similarly, NSC feted Kanchanpur Sports Development Committee's volleyball assistant coach Jagdish Prasad Bhatta with Best of the Best NSC Award under technical manpower. Banke District Sports Development Committee's judo coach Dal Bahadur Gurung was given Best NSC Award and Udayapur District Sports Development Committee's kabaddi assistant coach Parbati Rai was awarded with NSC Service Award respectively. Bhatta, Gurung and Rai were rewarded with Rs 25,000, 15,000 and 10,000 respectively. 

On the same occasion, NSC feted its 11 employees who completed 25 years service and 136 employees who completed 20 years service. 

Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Sreepali, NSC Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Choodamani Poudel distributed the awards.
