One dead, four injured in Jajarkot fire

JAJARKOT, Sept 4: A woman died and four people were injured after a fire broke out at a petroleum depot in Khalanga, the district headquarters of Jajarkot, on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sangita Bohara of Nayakbada-2, who had come to her maternal home to celebrate Teej festival with her parents.

According to Hikmat Bohara, acting chief of the District Police Office (DPO) Jajarkot, the deceased has an 18-month-old child. Man Singh Khatri of Karkigaun-7, Gokarna Chand of Bheri-malika municipality-4, Ramesh Shah, police personnel, serving at the District Police Office DPO Jajarkot, and Prem Prakash Bohara of Chaurjahari, Rukum, have been injured in the incident. Injured Bohara is the proprietor of petroleum depot.

Among the injured, Khatri and Chand are said to be in a critical condition. All the injured have been referred to Nepalgunj for further treatment.

Nepal Police, Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal Army, volunteers from Nepal Red Cross Society and locals contributed to put out the fire.
