Over 20 houses destroyed in Jhapa fire

DAMAK (Jhapa), June 21: More than 20 houses reduced to ashes in Jhapa as a fire broke out at Beldangi-2 on Monday night. However, human casualties were not reported. 

The fire that started from the house of local resident Madan Rijal at 8 pm spiralled out of control and swept through the settlement, destroying houses, stores and property. 

A shirt-circuit is to blame for the incident. Police said that the property losses were yet to be ascertained. 

The fire was doused three hours later with the help of fire engines, police and local people, assistant sub inspector Ram Chandra Dahal said. RSS
