NIBL pledges Rs 10 million for reconstruction of quake-damaged temples

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) has announced to provide Rs 10 million to the State for the reconstruction of the quake-damaged temples in Hanuman Dhoka premises in Kathmandu. 

Chief Executive Officer at NIBL, Prithivi Bahadur Pandey, made this announcement amid a programme organized by the UNESCO here today. 

The Gopinath and Jagganath Temples in Hanuman Dhoka had sustained damages during the Gorkha Earthquake that hit the country on April 25, 2015. The reconstruction of these historic sites was underway with the financial and technical assistances from UNESCO. 

On the occasion, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa pledged further assistance to Nepal for the reconstruction of other quake-damaged monuments of historical significance. 

Similarly, Chief Archaeological Officer at the Department of Archaeology, Suresh Shrestha, shared about the undertakings of the Department to rebuild the quake-damaged historic structures. RSS
