KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Two persons died in a road accident after a bus, Lu 1 Kha 1208 hit a bike, Lu 6 Pa 730, at Pipaldanda, Rupendehi along the Mahendra Highway.

The deceased are 20-year-old, Bikash Basnet and 22-year-old Min Bhandari from Sainamaina Municipality-3. 

According to police, Bhandari and Basnet had suffered serious injuries in the accident. Both of them died on their way to Lumbini Zonal Hospital for treatment.

In the same accident, nine-year-old Aayush B.K., son of Laxmi B.K. from Shivapur Municipality-9 in Kaplibastu, sustained injuries in his head and is undergoing treatment at Lumbini Zonal Hospital. 

Police have impounded the bus and arrested the driver.

Similarly, 50-year-old Umesh Chaudary was hit by a bus, Na.4. Kha 7866 on Monday at Dulari Chowk along the East-West Highway. 

Chaudary died while undergoing treatment at Dhopa Hospital in Dharan. The police have impounded the bus and taken the driver into custody. 

Likewise, 33-year-old Damodar Sapkota who had sustained serious injuries after a truck, Na 4 Kha 7734, hit a motorbike, Lu 11 Pa 124 at Badganga Municipality-1 in Kapilvastu along the East-West Highway, died while receiving treatment.

Sapkota died while undergoing treatment at Chauraha Hospital, Butwal. Police have impounded the truck and arrested the driver.
