NAWALPARASI, Oct 4: The people residing in areas near the Gangapur-based Indira Sugar Mill and Agro Industries, Nawalparasi have come onto the street against the Industry, accusing it of prompting the environment pollution.

They said that industry has become a source of pollution in their locality as it lacks a systematic drainage. Besides, the polluted water released out from the industry has caused damages to their crops, they said. The Gangapur folks have formed an alliance to struggle against the haphazard release of harmful water from the Industry, according to a local Binod Yadav. 

More, the water has caused serious health hazards to livestock as well, he said. People of Pratappur, Guthi Suryapura, Guthiprasauni, Pakalihawa and Narasahi have been affected the most, he added.
