Rape convict arrested after 32 years

JAJARKOT, Oct 17: A man convicted of a rape case has been arrested after 32 years.

Pratap Bali, 68, of Punma VDC, convicted by District Court, Jajarkot for the rape, has been arrested on Sunday.

District Court, Jajarkot had announced a three-year jail term on Bali for raping a woman in 2041 BS.

Bali was arrested and presented before the court, Police Inspector at District Police Office, Jajarkot, Hikmat Bahadur Bohara told Republica Online.

He added that Bali had raped a woman in 2036 BS and the court had issued a verdict pronouncing him guilty of the rape in 2041 BS.

A joint team of District Police Office and Area Police Office had arrested him for the rape. He has been sent to District Prison to serve the sentence, police said.
