Morang into quarterfinal

CHITWAN, Oct 20: Morang Football Club has advanced into the quarterfinal of the ongoing 12th Tuborg Bikash Running Shield defeating Apex Football Club of Kalimpomg, India 4-1 in Campachaur, Narayangadh on Thursday.

Morang took a lead in the seventh minute with Santosh Neupane's goal. Martin Agai extended Morang's lead seven minutes later but Indian opponent pulled back a goal with Marish Tamang scoring in the 26th minute and made the score line 2-1. Santosh scored his personal second in the 45th minute to make 3-1.

In the second half, Morang was provided penalty in the 58th minute when goal scorer Santosh was fouled in the box, which was converted by the player himself to complete the hat-trick. Santosh's hat-trick was the first hat-trick produced by any player in the ongoing tournament. The hat-trick hero was declared man of the match and was rewarded with Rs 10,000.
