KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday directed the lawmakers of his party to support the impeachment motion filed against suspended Chief Commissioner at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki.

During a meeting of Parliamentary Party of the party, Dahal instructed the lawmakers to take an utmost initiative to get the impeachment motion endorsed by the parliament.

As many as 157 lawmakers from the main opposition CPN-UML and major ruling party CPN (Maoist Center) had registered an impeachment motion against Karki in the parliament on Wednesday.

The impeachment motion was presented at the parliament meeting today and deliberations on it will begin at 3 pm on Tuesday.

A meeting of the party’s headquarters yesterday had authorized Dahal to take a decision on the impeachment through an understating among all the political parties.
