KATHMANDU, Oct 24: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has issued directives to stop the auctioning process of the Sajha Publication Central Office's land property at Pulchwok, Lalitpur.

The Prime Minister issued the directive to the representatives of the bodies concerned, including the Education Minister, calling them at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar today, following the Sahakari Bikas Bank's starting the process of auctioning the Publication's land after it could not pay back the loan.

The Sajha Publications is yet to pay Rs 75 million that it took as loan to the bank. The Publications had decided to sell its land property to pay back the Sahakari Bikas Bank's and other loans.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister gave assurances to release Rs 400 million in grant and loan.

In the discussions with the Education Minister Dhaniram Poudel, Chairman and General Manager of the Publications Dolindra Prasad Sharma, and Board members Pradip Nepal and Dinanath Sharma, the PM stated that the organization would be saved by issuing Rs 200 million as loan and the equal amount as grant.

"We will take a decision from the Council of Ministers within a week to provide the amount to the Sajha after completing the process. The auctioning process has to be stopped at any cost for the present. You should take up the responsibility of running the organization after the government's support. The historic organization should not close down," the Prime Minister said.

Education Minister Poudel said the file related to this has been sent to the Finance Ministry as per the PM's directive to save the Sajha Publications. RSS
