KATHMANDU, Oct 25: CPN (Moist Center) lawmaker Mahendra Bahadur Shahi on Tuesday said that the impeachment motion was brought against suspended Chief Commissioner at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki as he kept himself above law.

Speaking at beginning of deliberations on the motion in the parliament, Shahi, also the proposer of the impeachment motion, said that Karki created a terror by misusing his authority. 

He further accused Karki of being involved in a massive corruption while taking action on the minnows to disguise people.

He was of the opinion that the motion was brought to strengthen the constitutional anti-graft body, not to weaken it.
