This is last chance for govt. to heed alliance' demands: Chairman Yadav

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: Chairperson of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Upendra Yadav has stated that government has got a last chance to resolve the national crisis by amending the constitution. 

Speaking at an interaction program at the Reporters' Club here Friday, Chairman Yadav, also the Coordinator of the Federal Alliance, warned that they would pull support from the incumbent government if the national statute was not revised till the Chhath festival. 

The Alliance, that comprises several disgruntled Madhesh-centric political parties, has pressed for amendment in the new constitution within the Chhath. 

The former Minister for Foreign Affairs further however said, "We have not given ultimatum to the government for revision on the national charter. The Prime Minister himself had set the timeline for the same. But if the PM fails to keep up with his promise, the Alliance will call for a meeting and decide on the future course of action on the same." 

On a different note, Yadav argued that the political parties were terrified regarding the impeachment motion against the Chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Lokman Singh Karki. 

He shared that the Alliance would not take any move in this connection at this moment as Alliance was yet to understand the motif behind the impeachment motion against the Chief of the anti-graft body. 
Yadav blamed that the impeachment motion was a plot to delay the constitution amendment. RSS
