PARSA, June 25: Police have arrested a priest on the charge of raping a girl in Parsa district made his public on Friday. 

The arrested is Ramdev Das, 72, a priest of Hanuman temple in Jaganathpur VDC. The priest had been raping the girl since long alluring her of different things. She was working as a cook in the temple. 

Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Parsa, Rajubabu Shrestha said that the priest was arrested on the basis of complaint filed by the parents of the victim girl. 

Shrestha said that a health test has shown that the girl has become pregnant due to this. The girl underwent health checkup at Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, Birjung. 

Meanwhile, police have arrested three persons along with 20 kg of hashish from New Bus Park in Birgunj on Friday. 

The arrested are Javed Alam and Raja Ansari of of Birgunj Sub Metropolis and Suman Lama of Makawanpur, said SP Shrestha. 

Police arrested them along with the hashish, brought from Makawanpur, while they were smuggling it to India. RSS
