KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Police in Bode of Bhaktapur on Saturday found a half-decomposed body of woman, leaving police clueless about the identity of the deceased.

Tipped off by the locals in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-2 after the body was found hidden in a sack in the bushes near the way that connects Gumba tole from a petrol pump based in Bode, the police had recovered the body at around 9:00 am. After the locals noticed that the head was poking from the sack, they had informed the police.

The body of the woman of around 27 years has red sweater and brown pants on the body, according to SP Kiran Bajracharya, Chief of Metropolitan Police Range Office, Bhaktapur.

Preliminary police investigation has shown that the woman was murdered elsewhere and dumped there. The woman has a sharp injury mark in the head and bruises on her body, SP Bajracharya said.

“So far we have not received any complaint of a missing woman. The woman could have been murdered about a week ago,” according to police officials in Bhaktapur. The woman is not a local, has Mongoloid facial feature with a pierced nose, police informed.

According to the police, they are yet to receive the post mortem report from the Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital.

The police had gone over the site with sniffer dogs but found nothing suspicious. The case has been handed over to the crime division for further investigation. Police said that they would leave no stone unturned to identify the murderer.
