Who is a sinner?

Lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, pride, sloth and greed. No human is free from these qualities.

We talk about how these things have turned a good person into someone we don’t see positive light. Are these qualities evil?

Everyone has one of these seven sins in them. As I look at myself, it makes me wonder if I am a sinner as well. I might not be after the riches. I might not have a burning desire, hunger or even the feeling of supremacy. But procrastination and anger are two things that have been constant in my life. In other words, my sins are sloth and wrath. So does that make me a sinner? Or does it merely mean laziness and anger?

There may be no straightforward answer. To sin is to commit an immoral act which is considered to be a transgression against the divine law. But what about those who disagree with the concept of divinity? An atheist? Are those people free from sins?

Perhaps it’s the thinking about what is right and wrong. Cow is sacred to someone and others eat it. Who is a sinner? I have asked many questions but I cannot answer any. What does it mean to commit a sin?

Maybe each person is a saint and a sinner, a wise and a fool. Maybe the concept of sin is in itself redundant. I am simply asking about myself and I have taken a concept of Christian origin and mixed it with a Hindu reference. And you might not agree with me. Take a look at yourself, at your actions, your thinking. Understand yourself and know who you are. And in the process you will come with an answer to the question: are you a sinner?
