KATHMANDU, April 26: Sudikshya came to yet another dead end when she tried to search for ideas to celebrate her mother’s birthday. She tried everything, but to no avail.
She was browsing through Facebook when she came across a post titled ‘Offering Happiness’ in her news feed. She hastily clicked on the page and took the leap of faith, and she didn’t regret it. Her heart warmed at the sight of her mother’s astonished face when she saw the surprise that they had planned.

‘Offering Happiness’ is a business venture that plans surprises. It has divided its services into two sections -- customized gifts and service planning (where they plan a surprise in a different module based on the specified event). People can easily plan surprise birthday parties, marriage ceremonies, and special events through ‘Offering Happiness’.
Customers can either visit them or just browse through their social media links to get to know about their services. They can then purchase the service and will be contacted by the company. Customers can either put forward their plan and customize a service or choose from among the services offered.

“Offering Happiness as the name goes is not only about money. We genuinely want to offer people happiness that they deserve. So we try our best to lower the price to make it affordable to our customers. Because in the end our customer’s happiness is what matters to us the most,” says Avinash Chaudhary, co-founder of the company.
It has been four months since the business venture kicked off. The public seem to enjoy this new concept, with clients sending satisfied replies to their social media page.

But the real problem arises when the society finds it difficult to accept this new concept. “It is hard to convince the people on how we can carry this out as a business. It is a new concept, so it is a challenge. But we try to penetrate the market with our new way. We have just started from scratch, so it’s quite challenging for us to go in a steady direction, but we are determined to create a change in our society and its ways,” says Niraj Kafle, co-founder.

‘Offering Happiness’ further plans to empower women and youth by persuading their customers to use handmade products produced by local women and by involving young people in their business.
