POKHARA, June 28: Mahesh Serchan recently lost his 15 yaks in a single day leopard. The wild beast had hunted his cattle even earlier. But this was the first time he lost so many cattle in a go. It has left the local of Kowang village of Thasang Village Municipality completely devastated. “How would I recover now? They were my most valuable assets,” he lamented. “Snow leopard has victimized us repeatedly,” he added.

POKHARA, June 22: Until two years ago, Machhapuchhre Model Trek in Kaski district was a popular route for trekkers looking for camping trek. But the route, which offers the closest possible view of Mt Machhapuchhre, now wears a deserted look, as only a few trekkers walk this route. This is because the route does not have even basic infrastructure.
These days, even more than the exterior aesthetic, visitors prefer staying at hotels with a comfortable and inviting interior. Keeping this in mind, hotels in Pokhara have started focusing on interior design.
POKHARA, June 11: Locals of Madi in Kaski district, where 25-MW Upper Madi Hydropower Project is located, have put forth a list of “fresh demands” to the Madi Power Pvt Ltd, the developer of the project. Officials claimed that such demands have created additional financial burden on the developer company. The project located at Madi ward number 6 and 7 came into operation in the last week of December.
POKHARA, June 10: Stating that haphazard parking, tangled telecommunications and electricity wires, narrow roads, and stray cattle were taking toll on Lakeside area of Pokhara, stakeholders have called on the newly elected mayor of Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City to get rid of the problems and develop Lakeside as the happening destination in the metropolis.
