POKHARA, Oct 8: Author Subin Bhatarai’s famous novel ‘Summer Love’ is being made into a film of the same name. The shooting of the same recently took place in Pokhara capturing the characters of Atit, Saya and their friend at a Dohori restaurant enjoying their stay in the lake city.
POKHARA, Sept 27: The traffic island at Prithvichowk of Pokhara has been removed overnight. The road department removed the island on Monday at 11 pm considering the growing problem of traffic jam at the square. Along with the island, statue of Lakhan Thapa has also been taken off from the island.
POKHARA, Sept 7: The electricity meter of Ambar Bahadur Gurung living in Nadipur-3 of Pokhara is broken. He had submitted a complaint about the problem but in the same month he received a new bill with charge more than the previous months.
Pokhara is a melting pot of a diverse group of communities. People belonging to various cultures live here in harmony with a shared sense of tradition. The city has also given a significant space to Gurung films.
POKHARA, August 2: Last December, Susmita Gurung of Parsyang in Kaski district was walking along the Malepatan road to attend her college. She was on a wheelchair, which was being pushed by her relative. Suddenly, a motorcycle coming in high speed from the opposite direction hit her. Gurung tumbled down badly, her forehead got banged and she sustained severe injuries.
Pokhara: Though unmanaged infrastructures and narrow roads are common reasons for traffic congestion, cattle roaming on the roads have been adding to the traffic woes in the Lake City. The lack of management by authorities concerned has been attributed to the haphazard abandonment of cattle.
POKHARA: As many as 33 artists showcased an amalgamation of nature and culture at a painting exhibition ‘Monsoon – 2’ organized in Pokhara Art Gallery, Mahendrapul, on Saturday. The event was inaugurated by Kaski District Officer, Taranath Adhikari.
The Lake City is planning to ban unnecessary use of horn in the city area from July 16. The ‘No Horn Program’ is being launched with the collaborative effort of Pokhara-Lekhnath Municipality and Traffic Police.
POKHARA, July 2: Farmers in Pokhara have started using tractor for plowing their field as it is easier and faster than using a pair of oxen. They have found that plowing the field with tractor costs lesser than using oxen.
