KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Six different Lalitpur Patriots bowlers picked up a wicket each in their quest to bundle Rhinos out for 111 runs and win the eliminator by 27 runs. They have qualified for the second qualifier. Lalitpur will face Bhairahawa Gladiators tomorrow in a virtual semi-final. The winner of that match will tussle against Biratnagar Warriors in the final of EPL 2017 on 30th December.
Both Sharad and Aarif decided to take few overs to calm things down. Sharad is an experienced customer in such kind of situations but the way Aarif constructed his innings speaks volume of maturity level he has attained in recent times. At one point he was on 19 from 31 deliveries.
In all three cases, the ball was traveling. The boundary looked imminent. But the fielders timed their jump to perfection to complete all the catches. Sure the fielding is not up to the mark in EPL 2017 but they had their moments. And it has been brilliant ones.
Dipendra Singh Airee’s ‘captain’s knock’ scoring 55 runs from 50 deliveries smashing seven fours delivered first win of the tournament for Chitwan Tigers. Lalitpur Patriots succumbed to their third consecutive defeat of the EPL 2017 after winning the first game.
Chitwan Tigers picked up five wickets conceding only four runs in last two overs of the match to limit Lalitpur Patriots for 130 runs in their 20 overs. At one point, Patriots were 126/5 in 18.2 overs. Indian batsman Jaykishan Kolsawala top-scored for Patriots with 31 runs which included three fours.
Anshuman Rath’s second fifty of the EPL powered Biratnagar Warriors to 149 runs for the loss of six wickets. Hari Shankar Shah made crucial breakthroughs in the end overs to limit Biratnagar under 150 runs who were 118 for two in the 17th over.
Biratnagar Warriors have won their third match of the tournament in three matches as they head to the top of the table with six points. Warriors defeated Chitwan by 71 runs in the eight match of the EPL 2017.

Bhairahawa Gladiators won the toss and elected to bowl first in the sixth match of the Everest Premier League 2017. Dipesh Shrestha, who picked up three wickets in last match, continued his fine form by removing half-centurion of Lalitpur’s last match Pawan Sarraf and Jaykishan Kolsawala in his opening spell.
