KATHMANDU, April 9: Discussions between the top leaders of the major parties are continuing on the issue of removing the obstruction in parliament.

After the Nepali Congress (NC) gave an ultimatum not to allow parliament to function until a parliamentary committee is formed regarding the cooperative case of the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, the top leaders of the major parties have gathered in Baluwatar for discussion.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairman of ruling coalition party CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of CPN (United Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal, and NC General Secretary Gagan Thapa and leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula participated in the meeting held at Baluwatar, the official residence of the Prime Minister.

The parliament meeting scheduled for today is also being delayed as the discussion on removing the obstruction in parliament continues.

The NC has already stated that the formation of the inquiry committee is its bottom line.
