Ban on strikes in 25 essential services including insurance and banks

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: The government has imposed restrictions on strikes in 25 essential services.

Strikes are now prohibited in critical sectors such as insurance, banks, and electricity.

The government officially announced this restriction through a notice published in the Nepal Gazette, along with a detailed list of areas where strikes are not allowed.

Utilizing the authority mentioned by Section 3 (1) of the Essential Services Operation Act, 2014, the Ministry of Home Affairs has implemented a ban on strikes across 25 different essential services.
