BUTWAL, April 13: The commerce and industry related organizations in Rupandehi have come to the conclusion that the entrepreneurs were on the verge of displacement with crises surfacing in trade and business due to decreasing business volume, higher bank interest rate and rise in house rent in the aftermath of COVID-19.

A joint meeting of business organizations held in Butwal on Wednesday decided to prepare a framework to mount pressure on the authorities to slash house rent and bank interest rates.

The joint meeting of the Rupandehi Trade Association, Rupandehi Industry Association, Butwal Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Industry and Trade Association and Nepal House Rent Concern Organization concluded that it was inevitable to protect trade and commerce and create an environment where each sector can survive in the difficult time.

Rupandehi Trade Association Chair Krishna Prasad Ghimire said the meeting discussed the critical situation of trade, commerce and industry due to the burgeoning economic crisis and its consequences.

In a joint appeal issued after the meeting, the business organizations urged all sides to remain sensitive to create an environment for trade, commerce and industry so as to revive the economy.
