CAN Info-Tech concludes

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The 23rd Subisu CAN Info-Tech concluded in Kathmandu on Tuesday. 

The expo attracted 310,098 visitors over the past six days, according to Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation which organized the event. Altogether 55,713 people visited the Info-Tech on Tuesday - the last day of the event - alone, the federation said in a statement.

The expo had a total of 222 stalls of 158 different companies. The expo had stalls of companies dealing on hardware sales and maintenance, power solutions and mobile accessories as well as Internet service providers, telecommunication firms, ICT colleges and training institutes, software solution providers and payment solution providers, among others. 

The CAN Federation has been organizing CAN Info-Tech since 1995 with the aim to develop, promote and expand the information communication and technology (ICT) sector.

Shawarni Khanal, an attendant at the stall of Xiaomi smartphones, said visitor footfalls was quite encouraging. “Our stall was always packed with visitors,” she said, adding, “Most of them were eager to know more about our latest smartphones. We also distributed different gift hampers to our customers.”

Similarly, Ram Raja Rayamajhi, an IT student at Softwarica College, said that events like the Info-Tech would be of great help to students like him. “We get to know about technological advancements in the field of ICT,” he said.

The federation also organized a two-day International ICT Conference on the sidelines of the event. The two-event, which concluded on Monday, saw paper by noted expects on different issues related to the ICT sector.
