POKHARA, Oct 14: The local residents of Prithvi Chowk in Pokhara organized a candlelight vigil to pay tribute to the Nepali students who tragically lost their lives in Israel.

The Prithvi Hotel Business Committee organized the event at Prithvi Chowk in remembrance of the Nepalese students who perished in an attack by Hamas in Israel.

A total of 10 Nepali students, who had traveled to Israel for their studies, were among the victims of the brutal attack last Saturday. Additionally, several individuals sustained injuries during the incident. While some of the injured have returned to Nepal, those with more serious injuries continue to receive treatment in Israel. Recently, the Government of Nepal organized a chartered flight to repatriate 254 Nepali nationals from Israel.

Amrit Ghimire, president of the Prithvi Hotel Businessmen Committee, said that the candle lighting ceremony was held to pray for the peace of the departed souls who lost their lives in the attack. The event was attended by committee officials, current and past presidents, members of the working committee, and ordinary members.
