DHARAN, Aug 27: Following the lapse of the prohibition order issued by the Sunsari District Administration Office, Dharan has gracefully transitioned back to its routine daily life.

The administration had imposed a prohibitory order in Dharan, which was effective from Friday midnight to Saturday midnight. This measure led to an unusually quiet atmosphere in Dharan yesterday. However, the vibrant heart of Dharan sprang back to life today. Markets are bustling, and the streets are once again adorned with the movement of vehicles. The city has swiftly returned to its familiar rhythm of daily activities.

The initial concern arose from the potential disruption of religious and social harmony due to a scheduled gathering of Hindus from various districts for a large rally in Dharan. Responding to this situation, a collaborative effort of political parties and community leaders urged for restraint, highlighting the importance of maintaining harmony. In response, the demonstrators conveyed their unity through a goodwill rally on Friday.

In light of the security considerations, the district administration deemed it necessary to implement the prohibition order. This directive effectively restricted the organization of meetings, conferences, rallies, and similar events in Dharan on the specified day. As a precautionary measure, individuals associated with the Hindu faith, who had traveled from different districts to participate in the rally, were halted at the border of Dharan.

Recent incidents, including the construction of a church near the Balagopal temple in Dharan Ward No. 14 and a controversial incident involving a bull in Mangalbare Chowk, Dharan Ward No. 11, where the act was shared on social media, have sparked concerns over the maintenance of religious and social harmony.
