SARLAHI, Nov 16: An old man has died after being hit by a bus in Harion of Sarlahi district.

Man Bahadur Rai, 80, died after the bus (Na 6 Kha 9117) that had left Haripurwa for Kathmandu hit him at Kadariya Chowk, Harion Municipality-11.

The Area Police Office Harion said that the elderly Rai, who was seriously injured in the accident on Wednesday evening, died at LS Neuro & General Hospital Bara on Wednesday night during treatment.

The bus was impounded by the police. Police Inspector Anil Raj Giri said that the driver is absconding and search is being carried out in coordination with bus entrepreneurs.

According to the police, eight passengers in the bus were shifted to another bus on Wednesday night and sent to their destination.
