KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The Federal Alliance has drawn the attention of the government towards forwarding the talks with the Alliance in line with the three-point agreement. 

Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-Maoist Centre and the United Democratic Madheshi Front on August 3 this year had inked a 3-point agreement for forming a new government. 

The leaders of the Alliance, which consists of disgruntled Madhesh-centric political parties, met PM Dahal at his official residence at Baluwatar on Saturday and urged the government to further the informal talks with the Alliance. 

Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Co-Chair Rajendra Shrestha said, "PM Dahal although has been holding informal talks with the leaders in his personal capacity, we prodded for forwarding constitution amendment process by forging consensus through informal talks." 

He further shared that the PM had pledged the Alliance's leaders that he would initiate informal talks within the signatory parties' leaders. For this, PM Dahal has also called for a meeting in his official residence on Sunday, added Shrestha. 

Talking to the media persons following today's meeting, PM Dahal said that the informal talks were underway towards this end. 

The Alliance has been warning government of pulling back its support from the incumbent government if their demands are not heeded within Chhath festival (i.e. November 6). 

Today's meeting was attended by PM Dahal, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara. 

Representatives from the Alliance consisted leader Mahanta Thakur, Rajendra Shrestha and Laxman Lal Karna among others. RSS
