KATHMANDU, May 17: As the major communist parties, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) have merged, leaders of different political parties delivered mix reactions.

Coordinator of Naya Shakti Nepal and Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has questioned Maoist Center Chair Puspa Kamal Dahal stating, “can Dahal really accept the Madan Bhandari’s way, People’s Multiparty Democracy, regretting on people’s war’.

After the unification approved, Dr Bhattarai stated on his tweet that Dahal should be cleared about his ideology, either people’s war or People’s Multiparty Democracy.

What’s the existence of UML, if it had to merge with Maoist Center, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narshinga KC has stated that if Maoist Center has to be UML, what’s the meaning of People’s war?

Presidium member of Rastriya Janta Party Nepal, Rajendra Mahato has stated that the unified party has strengthened the Democracy and wish for utilization of the unified power.

Nepali Congress leader Chinkaji Shrestha has said that the unification has for weakening the democracy. He further said, “If the unification is for the prosperity of the nation, it is a better step, if it is against the Nepali Congress, then it will harm constitutional system and democracy.”

Congress spokesperson Biswo Prakash Sharma has suggested that with the unification the parties should leave the arrogant behavior and Nepali Congress has welcomed this unification.  He said, “Unification should be fruitful and leads the nation toward prosperity.”
