KATHMANDU, Dec 13:  The minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley has dropped to 5.8 degrees Celsius, marking the lowest recorded temperature this year.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology anticipates a further decrease in minimum temperatures, signaling an intensification of winter in the upcoming days.

Meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini at the MFD reported that Kathmandu's minimum temperature was registered at 5.8 degrees Celsius at 6:30 this morning, emphasizing a continuous decline over the past few days. Pudasaini noted, "There is a possibility that the temperature will decrease further, leading to a more pronounced winter."

In the afternoon, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu is expected to range between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius. With the anticipated escalation of winter conditions, meteorologists have advised caution to mitigate the effects of the cold.
