BANKE, Jan 30: Bhanu BK of Kohalpur Municipality-2 in  Shaktinagar, set his wife Ganga and 2-year-old son Prince on fire before fleeing the scene on Sunday.

BK sprinkled petrol on Ganga and Prince and set them on fire around 6 PM on Sunday. Ganga has received burn injuries on her hands, body and head, while Prince has received burn injuries above his waist. They are being treated at the Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur. Preparations are being made to send Prince to Kathmandu as he is in a very critical  condition.

“My daughter and son-in-law had a fight in the morning. Ganga had gone to her relatives from home,” Ganga's father Mani BK said, “When she was about to reach home with her relatives in the evening, my son-in-law sprinkled petrol and set her on fire.” 

“I had reached near the house with my relatives, I was carrying my son at that time when Bhanu sprinkled petrol from behind and set us on fire,” said Ganga. Ganga’s relatives and neighbors extinguished the fire. “If there were no relatives and neighbors, a big incident would have happened,” Mani BK said.
