Six amendment proposals on govt policies and programs

Six amendment proposals have been registered seeking an amendment to the policies and programs for the fiscal year 2018/19. The government had presented the policies and programs in the parliament on May 21. Seventeen MPs including Dr Minendra Rijal of the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, presented the amendment proposals which state that honorific words were not used while referring to the Speaker and the National Assembly chair in the government's policies and programs statement delivered to parliament by the President.

The government has unveiled the property details of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and other incumbent ministers on Wednesday. According to the property details unveiled today, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Raghubir Mahaseth tops the ministers’ rich list.

Four women journalists scale Mt Everest

A Women Journalists Everest Expedition-2018 (FWJEE18) team has successfully reached the summit of Mt Everest at 6 am on Wednesday. Rojita Buddhacharya of Nepal Television, Kalpana Maharjan of Mega Television, Rosha Basnet of National News Agency (RSS) and Deuralee Chamling, a freelancer, reached the summit of Everest whereas Priya Laxmi Karki of News 24 could only make it to Camp 3 and got back due to her health issue.

Foreign media depart on train for North Korean nuclear site

A group of foreign journalists departed by train Wednesday to watch the dismantling of North Korea’s nuclear test site after eight reporters from South Korea received last-minute permission to join them. The remote site deep in the mountains of the North’s sparsely populated northeast interior is expected to have a formal closing ceremony in the next day or two, depending on the weather.
