KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Nepal cancer hospital and research center Ltd (NCHRC) organized a Cancer Awareness Program in collaboration with Samriddhi Foundation Nepal under the sponsorship of Fujima Oil Company Ltd at Harisiddhi, Lalitpur on Friday.  

During the event, women from different media were invited to attend the awareness program. Dr Prafulla Shakya, consultant breast oncoplastic surgeon and Dr Anu Bajracharya, senior consultant gynecologist shed light on the symptoms, causes and preventive measures of breast and cervical cancer. Participants of the programme were provided mammography and pap-smear tests for cancer screening free of cost. Also, Hamro Swasthya Sajha Sarokar campaign had provided gift hampers to eight lucky participants through lucky draw. Approximately 45 women from different media actively participated in the programme.

The objective to target women from media houses for this awareness program was to disseminate the information to a larger audience through media.
