NEA Provincial Office initiates contract termination process with six companies

KATHMANDU, April 28: The Sudurpaschim Provincial Office of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) in Attariya has initiated the process of  terminating contracts with six construction companies due to the delay in work progress of transmission lines and substations.

Issuing a notice on Sunday, the NEA Provincial Office announced to terminate the contracts due to the halt in work by the contractors. The notice states that despite repeated written requests, the contracted companies failed to advance the work related to the transmission lines and substations, prompting the decision to terminate the agreements.

The companies facing contract termination include Tarupare Construction Services, Sunita and Kabita Construction, Bhagwati Construction, Sakun Engineering Construction Services, RB Construction, and Niglasaini Construction.

The NEA Provincial Office has granted these companies a seven-day ultimatum to appear with reasons, if any, for not terminating their contract.

According to the NEA Provincial Office, Tarupare Construction Services was contracted to set up 33 KV transmission line from Lalpur to Mahendranagar and Dhangadhi to Punarbas, Sunita and Kabita Construction for 33 KV line from Budar Substation to Jogbudha Substation, Bhagwati Construction, RB Construction and Niglasaini Construction for the electrification work at various places in Parshuram and Aalitaal municipalities but the works have been stalled.

Similarly, Sakun Engineering Construction Services has stalled two contracts for electrification in different places of Parshuram and Amargadhi Municipalities as well as in Nawa Durga and Aalitaal municipalities and Ganayapadhura Rural Municipality.
